Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council is the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), in force since 25 May 2018 in the European Union. The GDPR sets out the rules regarding the processing by a person, company or organisation of personal data relating to individuals in the EU. In addition to strengthening the legal protection of data subjects' rights, the GDPR sets out rules and procedures from a technological perspective.

The Regional Government Portal of Madeira is managed by the Regional Secretariat of Finance. The technological infrastructure of the Regional Government Portal is ensured by the Regional IT Directorate.

The services of the Regional Government of Madeira, as the persons responsible for data processing
Ensure that the processing of your personal data is carried out within the scope of the purposes for which they were collected or for purposes compatible with those purposes;
Collect, use and retain only those personal data necessary for the purpose in question;
do not transmit personal data for commercial or advertising purposes;
Process personal data for legally established purposes or for the pursuit of services at the request of the citizen.
 
 
Confidentiality and Privacy
The services of the Regional Government of Madeira are committed to processing your data in a fair and transparent manner, guaranteeing confidentiality and security regarding the information requested and ensuring that it is used only for the purposes expressly indicated and authorised.
 
 
Collection and processing of personal data
The Regional Government of Madeira Portal collects the information that is strictly necessary and pertinent to the purpose for which it is destined.
 
The information collected, through the contact form made available in all government areas, is the name and e-mail, intended for further interaction of the competent areas with the citizen.
 
In compliance with the legal obligation to ensure the security of information systems, provided in paragraph 1 of Article 32 of the RGPD, the Regional Directorate of Informatics performs a processing of personal data based on paragraph c) of paragraph 1 of Article 6 of the same diploma (compliance with a legal obligation). It collects the following data from visitors to its website: date and time of consultation, IP address (internet protocol), the type of browser used by the visitor and the pages accessed. These data are kept for a maximum of 90 days. The personal data collected is not subject to any analysis, unless there are possible security incidents, in which case, after analysis, it is communicated to the competent authorities.
 
 
Access, security and user identification
All personal information provided through the contact forms on the Regional Government of Madeira Portal is protected through security procedures that protect it from unauthorised access and disclosure.
 
 
Right of access, rectification, updating and elimination of data
The Regional Government of Madeira Web Portal guarantees the right of access to the data that directly concerns you, with the possibility of updating or correcting it, making it portable, deleting it, limiting its processing or opposing its processing, without compromising the validity of the data processing carried out up to that moment.
 
Conservation periods may be modified when justified by the public interest, historical, scientific or statistical reasons.
 
 
Use of cookies
The Regional Government Portal of Madeira uses cookies to improve the performance and navigation experience of its users.
 
 
Cookies used by the Madeira Regional Government Portal are:
Essential - necessary for browsing the website, guaranteeing access to private areas of the same, in order to allow services to be carried out, namely session cookies;
Analytical - necessary for the collection of information for statistical analysis of navigation and use of the electronic site, namely Google.
 
Social Networks
The Government Portal does not use the sharing of contents to Social Networks, and no user data is provided to Social Networks.
 
The interaction with existing Social Networks is done through links to the Social Networks of the respective Government Areas.
 
 
Cookies and similar technologies policy
On websites, portals and digital platforms, GRM uses cookies and other similar technologies that enable a more personalised browsing experience and performance of services by its users, for the sake of efficiency of response and elimination of the need to repeatedly enter personal information to request the provision of services, allowing the infrastructure to remember your preferences (e.g. language, username, et cetera) for a certain period of time.
 
For most cookies, no personal data will be collected. Personal data and user device information (cookies, unique identifiers and other device data) will be used specifically by GRM's digital services, without being shared with third-party providers. Performance cookies may be used for statistical purposes on the browsing experience of our websites.
 
Some cookies may have their legal basis in the public interest, in the nature of the entity responsible for processing or based on the prior consent of the user. Processing operations that take place on the basis of the public interest may be objected to by the data subject and consent may be withdrawn at any time.
