The view is superb, the space is simple, but very welcoming. A menu with little variety, but everything that is prepared there is of excellent quality, with the embers of firewood always ready. And a great wine service, in variety and quality. The owner is a great host.
It is a restaurant well known for lovers of good food and quality wines. The history of this restaurant is the history of its owner, António, who gives the place its name. He was an emigrant, speaks some languages fluently, including German, is cheerful and happy and enjoys what he does. He fell in love with the world of wine, which he knows very well, and his restaurant is the usual place for many wine producers on the island of Madeira and on the mainland. Everybody knows him and knows the great food that is served there and the quality of the wine service of this simple house.
It even has an air-conditioned wine cabinet, serving the many wines it has, at the right temperature in quality glasses. On arrival, you always make a toast; at the farewell, you drink another glass.
