In the historic area of Funchal, in one of those narrow streets that concentrate many restaurants, Arsénio´s is a traditional space, with a large and spacious room, old structure that has been maintained, beautiful wooden ceiling and very well-set tables, with comfortable chairs. The traditional service is in charge of competent and friendly professionals. Traditional food is served there, especially from the region. Fado is sung every night by professional artists. It's the only place in Funchal where this happens.

There's shortage of grilled limpets, mussels and sautéed shrimp, clams a la Bulhão Pato [traditional clams with a garlic and herbs sauce]. Some live seafood to prepare, there's always fresh fish of the day, usually grilled, on a wood grill working in an open space: snapper, squid, tuna, wrasse and black scabbard fish, the latter also in the traditional fillet with banana. There's squid and shrimp skewers and octopus stew. Regarding the meats, the traditional skewer is of great quality, there is great meat for steaks and lamb chops. And a great variety of desserts, with their own confection.
