A great work of wines, some appetisers and many products of own confection. Sympathy, passion and many stories to tell.
A beautiful space, quite typical, in the centre of the city, managed by a couple who have a real passion for Porto Santo wines, which they produce. But from the grapes, in addition to the wine, they make several other products; they just do not use the grapes’ peel. "But we will get there", as Mr. Diogo says. They make open-chute wines, in the old way, from the characteristic grape varieties of the small island: Caracol, Listrão, Canim and Moscatel. The Verdelho that was on the island, "which was very good", still according to Mr. Diogo, is just a memory. In addition to other table and fortified wines from Madeira, they serve small quantities of Porto Santo wines, as well as a curious pomace brandy made from must. They always have great plates of cheeses, sausages and other appetizers, which serve as company for the wines that many people, including Portuguese and foreigners, come to taste. And it is curious that these wines are in small stainless-steel vats, which are filled whenever necessary.
This is added to good taste, good mood and a delicious dose of humour.
Customers taste, buy and leave with a smile on their faces.
And they usually come back...
